The National Academy of Art - Burgas Branch, the Department of Poster and Visual Communication and Art Gallery "Petko Churchuliev" - Dimitrovgrad jointly present the exhibition "Shakespeare and the Stage" - Bulgarian and foreign theatre posters based on plays by William Shakespeare.
The poster collection is the outcome of a joint project of the National Palace of Culture and Art Gallery "Petko Churchuliev". It was made up in 2016 on the occasion of the Great Bard’s 400th death anniversary. The exhibited posters present different generations of Bulgarian and foreign artists and also reveal the over-the-years development of Shakespeare Poster, one of the most creative themes in the genre.
Curators of the exhibition at the NAA branch in Burgas are Ms. Antoaneta Stancheva, curator of the gallery in Dimitrovgrad, and Ch. Asst. Prof. Nenko Atanasov, PhD, lecturer at the NAA Department of Poster and Visual Communication.
As part of the exhibition, on 16 October (Friday), at 11:30 am, Ch. Asst. Prof. Nenko Atanasov, PhD, will deliver a lecture titled “The Obstinate Efforts of the Untamed Bulgarian Theatre Poster”.
