Nenko Atanasov holds a Master degree in Poster and Visual Communication from the National Academy of Art in Sofia and a doctoral degree in Visual and Plastic Art from New Bulgarian University. Ever since graduation he has been active in the field of poster and applied graphics. His artistic profile includes participation in the artist-in-residence programme at Cite Internationale des Arts – Paris and many international poster design forums held in Bulgaria and abroad, and dozens of graphic design awards and distinctions. He is the co-founder of the graphic design studio Poster House, author of curatorial projects and artist who has presented eight solo poster exhibitions. His regular contribution with theoretical publications in specialised periodicals go along with his collaborative activity as a jury member and art expert in contests and state committees. For three years he was responsible for the Information and Advertising Activities of the National Academy of Art, and in two consecutive mandates was member of the Specialised Expert Council for Postage Stamps Issue at the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. In the Department of Poster and Visual Communication at the National Academy of Art he occupies the position of a chief assistant professor. Nenko Atanasov is a management body member at New Vision International Group, Union of Bulgarian Artists – Graphic Design Section, Chamber of Designers in Bulgaria, and Bulgarian Heraldry and Vexillology Society.
