Students from the Department of Poster and Visual Communication created designs for logo and visual identity of Lake Atanasovsko

At the invitation of the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation (BBF), students from the Department of Poster and Visual Communication at  the National Academy of Art created designs for the logo and visual identity of Lake Atanasovsko in Burgas. In the future, they will represent one of the most popular lakes in Bulgaria and its unique bird diversity.

The results from the competition for educational task conducted among the 3rd- and 4th-year students from the  National Academy of Art in Sofia and its branch in Burgas are more than 40 designs. They were created under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Nenko Atanasov, PhD, in consultation with Assoc. Prof. Georgi Pavlov, PhD, and Asst. Prof. Zhivka Raykova. Upon careful review the BBF and EmpowerUs teams selected the laureates, whose names will be announced at the event for presenting the project results.

The awards will be presented to the laureates along with an exhibition showcasing the designs of all the competition participants on 3 October 2024, 4:30 pm, at the Bird Watching Shelter in the southern part of Lake Atanasovsko.

The newly created logo gives the vision and communicates the Burgas protected area–a remarkable place of international significance, the richest area for birds, Lake Atanasovsko is home to 334 bird species. It is also the only place in Bulgaria where sea salt is produced, and a deposit of healing mud and lye.
