February 5 - 25, 2021

UBA, 6 Shipka Street, 1st floor

Teachers and students from "Poster and Visual Communication" specialty at the National Academy of Art designed the entire system of visual communication, advertising materials and souvenirs of the Tourist Complex "St. Anastasia", within the project "Contact Zones" of the Foundation "Maintaining Art in Bulgaria" to the Union of Bulgarian Artists. The project is implemented with the financial support of the “Debuts” program of the National Fund “Culture” at the Ministry of Culture for 2019.

During a 10-day creative residency the young designers in a natural transition from the educational to the professional environment worked on the design of the visual communication of the Island, applying a new, innovative approach to education. The work process was carried out under the guidance of the lecturers Prof. Dr. Kristina Borisova and Prof. Dr. Nikolay Mladenov.

St. Anastasia is the only inhabitable island in Bulgaria with rich history and interesting natural, architectural and ethnographic landmarks. The participants got acquainted with the characteristics and location of the sites in the complex - museum, pharmacy, church, port, lighthouse, restaurant, guest house, conference hall, as well as archival materials provided by the contracting authority. At the end of the creative residence an exhibition was organized with design developments and experimental printed advertising materials and souvenirs in the gallery "Atelie" in the Branch of the National Academy of Art - Burgas.
